Treats For Dogs:

Treats For Dogs- Today, I’m going to tell you a step by step guide on how to make great cookies for your dog that they’re going to love. The recipe uses bacon and peanut butter. Your dog is going to love both of these.

Ingredients Of Treats:

So let’s talk about the ingredients list. So for this recipe, you need:

  • One cup of natural creamy peanut butter.
  • Three-quarters cup of low-fat milk.
  • One large egg.
  • Two cups whole wheat flour. If the dog is allergic to wheat, you can add coconut or rice flour.
  • One tablespoon of baking powder.
  • 1/3 cup of oats.
  • two to three strips of bacon.

Preparation of Treats For Dogs:

Start by getting your oven preheated to 325. These aren’t the kind of cookies that you’ll just put in your oven, and take out once they’re done. Put the egg, milk, and the peanut butter together in a bowl and mix it all. Now there’s so much peanut butter used in this recipe, and it’s no wonder that the dogs love it. Also, adding the bacon to it is a nice treat, and that’s why I thought this would be a great cookie recipe.

These are great cookies year-round. Once you’ve got your peanut butter and egg and milk mixed pretty thoroughly, you can add in baking powder and two cups of flour. Now, this is going to be a pretty heavy dough. So once you have mixed it in a little bit, you might need to take it out of the bowl, and start working it on a floured surface. Maybe your countertop or whatever, but it does get pretty thick, and you still need to add a couple of ingredients. So once you get to that point to make sure that you know you’ve mixed it adequately. Also, make sure that you have an opportunity to work it on a flat surface.

Once you reached the point where you can roll it out and work it on the countertop. It’ll be more likely to get a better mix with the bacon and the oats. Now, keep pre-cooked bacon ready to go in once you have your dough ready, and add bacon and the oats. Three strips of bacon are enough, you don’t need much more than that, and you’ve got the oats prepared. It’s going to be one-third of a cup. Chop up the bacon, then add it to your dough.

Bacon must not be more than one-third of a cup in dough because the dough will get too dry. However, one-third of a cup of oats will provide fiber for the dogs, and you can use whole rolled oats or even quick oats, either is fine for this recipe. You have to flour that work surface again and roll the dough out, and it’s a lot easier to do on that floured surface. Now grab the rolling pin, and put a little flour on it as well, and then start to flatten out a bit.

Now, please make it a little bit thicker than a quarter of an inch. Cookies can get a bit crumbly, and if you make it just a little bit thicker than a quarter-inch, you’re more likely to have the cookies stay in whatever shape that you want to create them in. So aim for that if you’re going to cut some of the heart shapes or whatever form you want. So then put them on the baking tray.

It would be best if you got a piece of parchment paper to keep the cookies from sticking. So, just spread them out evenly across your baking sheet, and then they’re going to go into the oven for 18 to 20 minutes. Keep an eye on them to make sure that they don’t burn, but as long as the bottom is brown. It’s time to take them out at that point. However, you’re not quite done there.

Now the thing you check for is that the bottom of the cookie has browned a little bit. Okay, you’re going to turn each one of these over, and then you’re going to put it back into the oven for another 10 minutes. Now, after 10 minutes, take them out and let the treats get down to room temperature. If you’re going to keep these at room temperature in your house, it’ll last about a week, the same thing in the fridge. These treats for dogs will last nearly a week. However, if you put them in the freezer, you’ll get a lot more life out of these treats. They’ll you know last much longer than that.
